Privacy policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data ShipWise PC collects through this website and the ShipWise platform, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679) and Greek Law 4624/2019.
Who is responsible
The data controller is ShipWise PC, 48b Agion Anargyron Street, 18542 Piraeus, Greece. VAT 802580282. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
What we collect and why
- Quote and contact requests. Your name, company, email, phone and the shipment details you type in. We use them to answer you and prepare an offer. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Shipments we handle. Names and contact details of senders, receivers, suppliers and agents, vessel details, and the documents a shipment needs (invoices, packing lists, airway bills, bills of lading, customs declarations). Legal basis: performing our contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and meeting tax and customs obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Customer portal accounts. Name, email and a hashed password, so you can sign in and see your company's shipments and stock. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). If you choose Sign in with Google, Google confirms your email address to us; we receive nothing else and do not store anything from Google.
- Shipment tracking. The number you search for is used only to find the shipment and is not stored. The public tracking page shows city and country, never full addresses or names.
- Security records. Our servers record IP addresses and request times, and the platform keeps a record of who changed what. We use these to keep the service secure and to stop abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who receives the data
- Carriers, airlines, shipping lines, agents, warehouses and customs brokers that take part in your shipment, only as far as the shipment needs.
- Customs and tax authorities, when the law requires it.
- Daedalos Labs, which develops, owns and maintains this platform, acting as our processor under a data processing agreement.
- Our hosting and email providers, acting as processors.
- Cloudflare, Inc., which delivers this website and protects it from attacks. Every visit passes through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address and the pages you request, acting as our processor under its data processing agreement and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Google, only when you choose to sign in with your Google account.
Transfers outside the EU
Shipping often means sending data to a carrier or agent in the destination country. When that country is outside the European Economic Area, we transfer only what the shipment needs, because the transfer is necessary to perform the contract (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR) or under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Quote and contact requests that do not lead to work: up to 2 years.
- Shipment, invoicing and customs records: for the periods Greek tax law and EU customs law require.
- Portal accounts: while your company works with us; we delete the account when you ask or when the cooperation ends.
- Security records: up to 12 months.
- Backups of the database: kept encrypted and deleted after at most 2 years, so data deleted from the platform disappears from backups within that time.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to [email protected]; we answer within one month. Some data we must keep by law, and we will tell you when that applies.
You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifisias 1-3, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr.
Security
Connections to this site are encrypted. Passwords are stored hashed, sensitive settings are encrypted, staff see only the storage and data their role allows, and every change to stock is recorded.
